Why did you pick these houses?

The South : where we bought first, before we saw Vratsa. The Elhovo and Karnobat regions have large resident English populations and easy access to Burgas airport in summer.

The North: Vibrant Vratsa is a lost jewel of Europe, magical Montana with its tiara of mountains. Unspoilt Mezdra, 50 miles of motorway, but a world away from Sofia.

Ecologically, this fertile region is the purest in Europe. Fantastic nature filled with mountains, lakes, rivers and forests. Charming, welcoming people. Rural pursuits, extreme sports. An archeological treasure house. You're our guests until you buy. We want to share this unique, forgotten land with you.

Attractive, friendly, sheltered villages in fertile areas with landscapes like the Yorkshire Dales & Scotland. Mild climate, short winter. Medium size villages with good facilities - doctor, shops, bar or two. Good bus services. Good relationship with local mayors, police, etc. Locals who want to clean or garden for a fiver a day.

Under two hours to Sofia or Burgas airport by car on good roads. Great holidays for the family and friends, or come and live the good life on fifty quid a week !

All city facilities - good restaurants, football stadium, clubs, discos, hospital, cinema, train station, professional services, swimming pool, sports hall, clinics, schools, colleges, specialist shops, supermarkets, banks, open markets etc, within a twenty minute drive on decent roads.

Great value houses. Well built with large gardens, good views and no structural or boundary problems. Electricity and water connected, easy access in attractive villages with wonderful nature all around. No unpleasant surprises.

Remember, I bought them because they were very good and cheap [ direct from the villagers through my Bulgarian wife] A fraction of what they would cost to build, and cheaper than anywhere in the world [except in a few parts of Black Africa and Afghanistan, because their owners are living in Birmingham!]

Easy to improve and in centralised locations so one of my teams of builders is available for all finishing work, if you want, plus you know other Brits will be coming to the village [ if you want to be the "only Brit in the village" we've got a few one-offs though ].
